Janet Myatt studied bassoon at Trinity College of Music London with Vernon Elliott & Edgar Williams. She then worked as a freelance player and teacher in London & Hertfordshire, playing in the Hertfordshire Teachers Orchestra and a wind trio with John Myatt & Tony Aspden. Janet started coaching wind chamber music courses at the Benslow Music Trust in the '80s and over the years the courses have increased in number and size so that 3 - 4 tutors are often needed to cope with the demand. The Myatts moved to Suffolk in 1990 where Janet continues to teach privately.
