Janet Myatt Course Organiser and Tutor Janet studied bassoon at Trinity College of Music London, with Vernon Elliott & Edgar Williams. She then worked as a freelance player and teacher in London & Hertfordshire, playing in the Hertfordshire Teachers Orchestra and a wind trio with John Myatt & Tony Aspden. Janet started coaching wind chamber music courses at the Benslow Music Trust in the '80s and over the years the courses have increased in number and size so that 3 - 4 tutors are often needed to cope with the demand, in all Janet runs and/or coaches 7 weekend courses and one summer school every year, in several venues. The Myatts moved to Suffolk in 1990 where Janet continues to teach privately, and teaches bassoon at the Colchester Institute and occasionally at the Junior dept. of the RCM, all this interspersed with swimming, walking the dogs and sea gazing from their cliff-top home. Simon Stewart Simon is the leader and soprano sax player of the Paragon Saxophone quartet, as well as a successful free-lance clarinet player. Simon also teaches at the Purcell School and runs Saxophone courses on Behalf of Selmer (Paris). Paul Chapman Paul is head of Alexander technique at Trinity College of Music, as well as being an accomplished freelance flautist. Jo Lively Jo is professor of oboe at Trinity College of Music, an examiner for the Guildhall/Trinity examinations board and a free-lance oboe player. |
